Client: Magnus Thor AB (MTAB)
Year: 2025 –
Value: Magnus Thor increases operational efficiency by consolidating work orders, competencies, and communication into a single digital workflow using Inphiz — from onboarding to executed work and follow-up.
Competence: Inphiz för forrest industry. Inphiz for the forestry industry. Digitalization of tract directives, production workflows, and traceable, role-based communication using Inphiz as the platform. Inphiz integration services retrieve data from the management system in Microsoft SharePoint O365/Teams, and Inphiz AI makes the information securely searchable and accessible, with translations available in selected languages.

One of the largest forestry contractors with an international workforce was looking for a planning and production system without language barriers
With more than 200 employees, Magnus Thor is likely Sweden’s largest forestry service contractor. From Skåne to Norrbotten, the company plants, clears and prepares forest land for forestry companies and forest owner associations. The operation is highly decentralized, the workforce varies throughout the year, and a large share of employees are seasonal workers who do not speak Swedish. This creates significant challenges in communication, quality assurance and operational control.
Magnus Thor was early to recognize the challenges of manual and fragmented processes out in the field. They had already developed their own work order module, “ORS” (Object Reporting System), but even though it was an important step forward, many core functions were still missing. Inphiz offered a platform where several digitized processes could interact seamlessly.
By jointly developing a new version of ORS on the Inphiz platform, Magnus Thor was able to both scale functionality and raise quality across the entire workflow. The platform already includes infrastructure for app and dashboard, communication, permissions, login, language support and AI services – giving Magnus Thor a strong, standardized foundation to build on. In addition, maintenance became significantly more efficient and sustainable compared with a fully custom-built system.
Magnus Thor faces many of the same challenges seen across the forestry sector. Some are typical for operations with a large share of field workers, others are linked to language barriers and the long industry value chains that forestry contractors operate in. Documentation, instructions and procedures need to be both easily accessible and understandable for employees with different native languages. It was difficult to reach all employees quickly and in a traceable way – and just as difficult to know who had received which information. Onboarding was time-consuming, and key documents such as safety regulations and simple but critical information (for example which keys to use for a specific assignment) were handled manually via email, SMS and other chat tools – creating inefficient processes. In addition, there was no real-time overview of competencies and authorizations, which made it hard to ensure regulatory compliance.
For forestry contractors, one challenge is almost industry-specific: the work order process. The old process was fragmented across several systems, with Excel at its core. There was no unified digital work order flow, which made planning, traceability and follow-up inefficient. The consequences included:
MTAB also called their previous process the “Object Reporting System” (ORS), and that name was retained when Inphiz, together with Magnus Thor, developed an entirely new module for forestry contractors on the Inphiz platform.
The benefits of the new ORS module are substantial. Work orders (objects) are now automatically retrieved from customers’ core systems and then managed end‑to‑end in Inphiz. Workforce planning takes place directly in the platform, with all operational data consolidated in one place. Out in the forest, each worker manages their work orders in the app. What needs to be done, where it should be done and the scope of planting or clearing are clearly defined. Reporting is completed on site, giving the business real‑time control of each object as well as the entire production flow.
By removing manual handovers and Excel‑based steps, this fully digital work order flow shortens the business process by several weeks, accelerates invoicing, reduces administrative time and creates a new level of traceability and quality throughout the value chain.
"Inphiz has transformed the way we work. Everything is faster, more traceable, and actually works out in the field."
– Niklas Thor, Magnus Thor AB.
Inphiz delivers an operational system that digitizes processes that were previously experienced as challenging and administratively heavy. This creates the following value:
Together, this gives Magnus Thor a faster, safer and more data‑driven operation where both production and people can develop with full control – every day, all the way out into the forest.
Effect
The impact for Magnus Thor is significant. With the new ORS flow, the time from completed work to customer invoice is now several weeks shorter. Deviations are easier to both report and follow up on, as traceability is 100%. On top of that, management has a real‑time, end‑to‑end overview of operations, ensuring that everyone has the right competencies in line with all regulations and legal requirements in forestry. During audits – internal as well as external – it now takes minutes rather than days to compile the necessary documentation.
For employees, governing documents have become something you actively demonstrate your understanding of by answering AI‑generated questions. AI is also used directly in the forest, where employees can ask questions about Magnus Thor’s governing documents and get instant answers in any language they choose. Language barriers have almost disappeared – both in documentation and in day‑to‑day communication.
That Inphiz is a platform that connects and digitizes multiple processes has been a prerequisite for the results Magnus Thor is now experiencing: a faster, more traceable, more quality‑assured and more engaging operation.
